How to thrive in a fast-paced environment

The summer is over and for most of us, it is “back to school” time – which means things are gearing up in the workplace too. These days, the work environment is increasingly fast-moving and everyone is expected to exercise their judgments immediately, make decisions quickly and constantly perform at a high level. For some, with a high capacity for performing efficiently and effectively under pressure, this is an exciting challenge and they thrive. For others, it is not so easy and they become tired and stressed, feeling totally at the mercy of the environment. When you are stressed, you run the risk of losing the initiative and you rarely perform at your best - your work and your working relationships can all suffer as a consequence. In this newsletter, we explore some of the keys to thriving in a fast-paced environment so that you can regain your power and manage your priorities.

“Fast-paced” can mean any number of things. It may be about the need to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, or being able to come up with urgent solutions to challenges or even having the ability to stay calm and not panic under pressure. Use our tips to help you take back control and maintain the correct balance between accomplishing results, preserving your inner resources and maintaining relationships.

“The key is in not spending time, but in investing it.”
